Sort the Trash

Where does the banana peel go? Help sort the trash!

For ages 4–8 · Logic · Free · No ads

What your child learns

  • Three kinds of household trash: food waste, recycling and general waste
  • Spotting leftover food versus paper, plastic, metal and glass that can be recycled
  • Why it matters: food waste becomes compost, bottles and cans are melted into new things
  • Observing, comparing and grouping objects by what they are made of

How to play

  1. Press "Play now". The trash tray is at the top and the bins are at the bottom.
  2. Drag each item into the right bin, or tap an item and then tap a bin. On a computer, use Tab and Enter to pick an item and then a bin.
  3. Put it in the wrong bin and it bounces back with a gentle hint; miss again and the right bin blinks.
  4. Sort a whole tray without a mistake to earn a star.

For parents

  • It starts with two bins (food waste and recycling) and very familiar items; the third bin and the "why" lines come as your child does well.
  • Items follow Vietnam's official household waste sorting guidance (three groups, required from 2025), using only items with a clear category.
  • After a meal, sort the trash together: fruit peels in one bin, rinsed bottles and cans in another.
  • Local rules on bags, bins and pickup times vary; check your own city's guidance.
