Letter Tracing

Trace the letter with your finger!

For ages 4–6 · Letters · Free · No ads

What your child learns

  • The shapes and strokes of the letters
  • Fine motor skills that prepare for handwriting
  • Hearing the name of the letter being traced

How to play

  1. Look at the faint letter on the lined board.
  2. Trace over the letter with a finger (or mouse).
  3. Cover the letter without going too far outside and it changes color.
  4. Press the eraser to clear and try again.

For parents

  • Simple letters like o, c, i and l come first.
  • The game doesn't check stroke order yet; guide your child to trace top to bottom, left to right.
  • On a tablet, tracing with a finger is easier than with a mouse.
